my process

I know that it’s a big leap to choose a graphic designer or illustrator to help represent your brand! That’s why I want to make sure we are on the same page before we even begin. When you contact me, I will send you a questionnaire to fill out. This will help give me an idea of your dreams, your company, what deliverables you will be needing, what style you are going for, among other things. I will then send a contract back with a price estimate. I typically ask for 25% of the estimate up front. Then comes the best part—once the contract is signed and the 25% is paid, I get to work and bring your vision to life!!! I typically get the first round of mockups back within 3 days. From there, we will work together to fine tune everything and create a final product that is perfect for your brand. Let me tell your story!

designer statement

I believe that, on this earth, there is a little bit of good and a little bit of not-so-good in everything. I believe the sweet things in life are usually mixed with a little bitter, the bitter usually mixed with some sweet, and that there is something redeeming in everything.

It’s what I love about the world, people, and design. It’s like a love/hate relationship with running. It’s often terrible on the mind and creates sore muscles, but being fit and feeling those endorphins are priceless!

Or like a rainstorm. A rainstorm may make nice shoes muddy, turn your leisurely walk into a run, and deflate nicely done hair, but it also slowly rejuvenates the earth, so that the leaves continue to wake up green and bright, and the flowers continue to bloom year after year.

Sickness and death of family may be the hardest, scariest time of life, but it also creates sweet, deep bonds that probably couldn’t have happened otherwise, as well as a trust in our strong, victorious Savior.

Unity through chaos.

Harmony through juxtaposition.

Balance through opposites.

It’s what I love about design, too. I love pairing negative space with something bold, light watercolor with dark micron pen, an organic typeface with a professional or corporate feel (seen in my logo), and many other things. I think there can be a harmony between styles, colors, and moods to evoke powerful emotion and cause something to be remembered. It’s different and complete.

So when I am telling someone else’s story, I ask myself: How can I create harmony on a page? How can I pair typography, design history, colors, and layout to showcase a person’s message and remain unified? Through everything I do, I try to create unity, harmony, and balance in order to tell a brand’s story.

kind words

”Megan was absolutely a delight to work with when creating a logo for our business. She listened to our goals and desires, then asked specific questions before providing us with possible logos. From there, she helped us fine tune the selection in order to land at the most beautiful finished product. Megan’s talent, expertise, and patience are above and beyond. She made our vision come to life and the logo is even more beautiful than we could have imagined. Thank you!”

“Megan worked with me to create a logo for a business I am opening. I had my own ideas of what I could envision for the logo, and Megan made it happen. She was so very kind, accommodating and did a great job with the design while keeping my vision in mind. Megan was pleasant to work with. She is as organized as she is talented. I love my logo, and Megan will always be part of my story!”
